As valued blog readers, you are the first to know about the launch of my new book, Disability Is HumanThe Vital Power of Accessibility in Everyday Life, and are getting this special message with the inside scoop on to expect in the next month!

  • Many of you have also asked how you can help spread the word and support this launch. I am so grateful to each of you for your continued and steadfast support.

So! Here’s the plan.

🌱 Pre-Launch: Now until September 15th

Press Play: Podcasts

I’m doing lots of interviews as a podcast guest (four times this past week alone!), with release dates scheduled for mid-September — just after the book is ready for sale.

Here are three of the recently recorded podcasts – if they are your cup of tea, please do show your support and subscribe!

The incomparable Mei Mei Fox invited me for a conversation on her upcoming YouTube and Podcast channels. You can find out more about her incredible book writing coaching program that was an instrumental part of this process. Stay tuned for more from that transformative interview!

➡️ Do you know anyone hosting a podcast that might be a good fit for this book? Let me know! If you can make a referral or connection, I really appreciate it!

Share the Love: Social Media Toolkit

We are developing a suite of Disability Is Human branded materials to be shared on social media. These will be rolled out both just before and of course during the launch period.

➡️ I post daily on LinkedIn and Instagram. If you’re on either of those platforms and see the Disability Is Human posts in your feed, help spread the word with a repost and share.

➡️ I’m also resuming regular video posts on YouTube. These are in American Sign Language with voiceover and captions. There’s a suite of videos already there – check them out and subscribe to my channel!

Debuting Soon: All-New Website

Both StephanieCawthon.com and DisabilityIsHuman.com are getting major overhauls in preparation for the launch! This includes:

  • New headshots, bios, and a press kit

  • One stop hub for book launch events and content

  • Ways to spread the word and join the movement!

🚀 Soft Book Launch: On (or Near) September 15th

AS SOON as I can confirm all is good and have that print book in hand, you will get an email with the links on how to order.

  • You’ll be the first to know! I’ll check in with y’all to make sure the process is smooth on your end, before broadcasting to the world that the book is ready for purchase.

Here’s what you can expect and how you can participate in the fun!

  • When you get the book, take a pic of it in your hands or hold it up to your glorious face.

  • Share with your networks and tag me.

  • Remember our hashtag: #DisabilityIsHuman

  • Not on social media? Please do send to me personally via email or DM! I would love to see Disability Is Human out in the world after so many months (years!) working behind the scenes!

Your reviews and ratings will of course be a huge part of this launch. We welcome your review of Disability Is Human at both Amazon and Goodreads – more info on this process during launch mode!

✍️ As Always: Disabled Creator Spotlight!

We are continuing in our disabled creator spotlight series – a key part of how we share stories and connect people to the disabled experience.

He is an accomplished author who writes Through a Broader Lens, a weekly deep dive into topics related to disability and accessibility. I’ve come to respect and value Jonathan for his long-form contributions to our efforts to raise awareness and forge a path forward in accessibility.

🌅 And Finally… Summer Recharge Complete!

The end of July brought me outside and into nature for some regular walks with my good friends – the trees, birds, and flowers. I am grateful for the time and space to recharge my nature-battery and the chance to stay connected to the things that nourish me.
