Learning disabilities are the most prevalent disability in children who receive special education services.
Yet for deaf students, many challenges and misunderstandings persist in accurate identification of their learning disabilities and design of learning environments for them.
That is the topic Dr. Stephanie W. Cawthon will address in her September 24 keynote presentation, Deaf Students with Learning Disabilities: Considering Root Causes in the Design of Supportive Learning Environments, at Scarlett’s Park in the Silent Garden at Fresno State, an annual conference focused on deaf and hard of hearing children and adults with special needs.
